Why a Tango Set?

Tango sets are functional combinations where the top and bottom pieces are designed separately. Especially in milongas and intense dance flows, they offer much more controlled and flexible use compared to dresses.

While a dress creates a flowing silhouette, it may not achieve the same perfection on every body type. With sets, you can choose top and bottom pieces in different sizes, ensuring a perfect fit for waist, hip, and bust measurements.

Freedom of Movement

Turns, ochos, and quick step transitions require the garment to faithfully follow the body. Sets with high-waisted skirts or trousers combined with form-fitting tops support the core area. Since they don’t bunch up or slip, your attention remains entirely on your partner and the music.

Practicality & Versatility

The biggest advantage is versatility. You can create numerous looks by pairing the same bustier with different skirts. For a dancer who regularly attends milongas, this modular structure is a major wardrobe advantage.

Aesthetic Emphasis

Sets are ideal for emphasizing the characteristic lines of tango. Defining the waistline or highlighting leg movements is done much more controllably with piece-based designs. In short, tango sets are a professional solution that combines technical needs with aesthetics.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is every garment made to my measurements?

Yes. Every garment is sewn to your measurements. If you do not add them when ordering, we email you after the order and confirm the measurements before cutting the fabric.

How do I take my measurements?

Follow our step-by-step guide: https://untangomas.com/taking-measurements/ . We work in centimetres; if you measure in inches, just write them down and we convert them (1 inch = 2.54 cm).

Do you ship to the USA, and how long does it take?

Yes, shipping to the USA is free. Sewing takes about one week and shipping about one week.

Which fabrics are better for the stage and which for the milonga?

For the stage, shiny, sequined fabrics and deep necklines are in demand; stoned fabrics and satins look best under stage lighting. For milongas, most dancers prefer to avoid heavily stoned fabrics, deep necklines and deep slits.
